Jay grew up in north-end Halifax and has been part of the auto industry here in his hometown since 1994 when he began detailing cars as a teenager at the old Halifax Nissan. A year later in 1995, Jay made the jump to the showroom where he'd spend the next seven years selling cars. In 2002 he began a six year stretch in the role of Finance Manager, the majority of which spent at MacPhee Pontiac in Dartmouth. Jay would finally join the Steele Auto Group in 2008 in the role of Sales Manager and has since worked with various brands across the group including Ford, Hyundai, and Chrysler/Ram/Dodge/Jeep. In October of 2022, Jay was thrilled to join the team here at one of the Steele Group's most dynamic dealerships - Colonial Honda on Robie Street. Jay counts pride as his chief motivator and enjoys helping create a positive & productive culture through accountability, strong attention-to-detail, and an enthusiastic lead-by-example approach. He has a deep appreciation for the friendships that are built with both clients and colleagues and is grateful for all he's learned by crossing paths with such a diverse and brilliant collection of people over the past three-plus decades. Away from work Jay is a proud and devoted dad to a wonderful daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys staying active and fit, hosting family and friends with his fiancée Sylvie, home improvement projects, 80's/90's pop culture nostalgia, catching a great movie or series, and closely following the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jay invites his clients, friends, and family to visit him at Colonial Honda anytime for a coffee, a chat, and of course - a new vehicle!
